Siliguri, Sept. 10 -- West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today said efforts were being made to bring back stranded tourists stuck in Nepal following unrest in the Himalayan country and hoped for the restoration of peace and normalcy.

Meanwhile, Governor CV Ananda Bose is expected to visit Panitanki, a border town dividing India with Nepal in north Bengal to take stock of the situation after trouble erupted in Nepal on Monday.

The Chief Minister said tourists who are stranded in trouble-hit country will be brought back shortly, and urged people living in the northern districts to maintain peace.
