Kolkata, Aug. 2 -- Aiming to reach people in the city, towns and villages, just months ahead of Assembly poll, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today launched a Rs 8,000-crore community programme "Amader Para, Amader Samadhan" (APAS) in all blocks across the state.

Each block will get Rs 10 lakh each to address typical local issues like setting up or repairing tap water connection, street lighting system, repair road connectivity and other issues which could be done absolutely with the stipulated or allocated funds.
