Kolkata, Sept. 13 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today conveyed her best wishes to newly appointed Nepal Prime Minister Sushila Karki, saying since they have common borders and close people-to-people contact, the friendship and cooperation would grow further.
Sushila Karki (73), a jurist, author and politician, was sworn in yesterday as the interim Prime Minister by President Ram Chandra Poudel, becoming the first woman to hold the office in Nepal.
Her mandate is to restore order, investigate corruption and violence against protestors and oversee elections to be held on March 5, 2026.
