Kolkata, Sept. 9 -- Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today appealed to the people living in the Indo-Nepal border areas in West Bengal to maintain peace and not to cross the border until peace was restored in the neighbouring nation.
Before leaving for north Bengal districts of Siliguri (Darjeeling district) and Jalpaiguri on a three-day official tour, Banerjee told reporters at NSCBI International airport, "Nepal is our neighbouring country and we should have peace and normalcy across the border.""West Bengal has huge porous borders with Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh from the north Bengal side and no one should venture to cross the border towards Nepal under the present situation," Banerjee added.
