Kolkata, March 11 -- Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday convened an emergency meeting with oil companies and LPG dealers to review the availability of cooking gas and fuel in West Bengal amid concerns triggered by the ongoing Iran-Israel war.
After the meeting, Banerjee said the state government had taken several steps to prevent a crisis and assured residents that there was no reason for panic.
"We have taken a few measures after discussions with the dealers. From what we gathered, there is no major problem with petroleum fuel yet. The main issue is with LPG gas. We have requested that the gas currently stored in the state should not be sent outside for the time being. Once the situation improves, supplies can resume," she said....
