Kolkata, Oct. 16 -- Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appealed to tourists to revisit Darjeeling, assuring that safety and connectivity in the Hills are being rapidly restored after the recent landslides today.
Speaking to the media after offering prayers at the Mahakal Temple in Darjeeling, Banerjee said, "I've spoken to several tourists here. After the landslides, there was a sharp decline in tourist numbers. We've already facilitated the return of around 1,500 tourists from the Hills. I urge everyone to come back and enjoy the beauty of Darjeeling."The Chief Minister informed that two key routes to Darjeeling- via Tindharia and Pankhabari - have been restored, and the Rohini route is expected to reopen within two weeks.
