Kolkata, July 27 -- In an effort to widen the scope of the 'Language Movement' initiated by Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister is set to lead the first protest rally tomorrow afternoon in Bolpur, located in the Birbhum district.
She is set to arrive in Birbhum tonight, with both administrative and party events scheduled for the following day.
The language movement is part of a larger protest campaign sparked by allegations of harassment against Bengali-speaking people in states governed by the BJP.
There have been claims that Bengali speakers are being labelled as Bangladeshis, particularly in BJP-ruled states, and are being forcibly pushed back across the border into Bangladesh.
