Kolkata, Aug. 5 -- In a heartfelt gesture to connect with flood-affected residents of South Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee personally served "khichdi"-a traditional dish made of rice and lentils-to victims at a relief camp in Goghat, Hooghly district, earlier today.
At the camp, flood victims sat in orderly rows, with Sal leaf plates laid out in front of them. In a rare and emotional scene, the Chief Minister served food directly from a bucket, ensuring that each person received a share of the humble, nourishing meal. In addition to "khichdi", other food items were also arranged for the affected families.
