Kolkata, Nov. 21 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to hold a meeting in Thakurnagar, North 24 Parganas, in response to apprehensions among the Matua community over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which they fear may affect their citizenship rights.
The Chief Minister's visit gained momentum in the Matua stronghold after a crucial closed-door discussion at Thakurbari between Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders Mamata Bala Thakur, Rajya Sabha MP and Bongaon organisational district chairperson, and senior TMC leader and Habra MLA Jyotipriya Mallick.
