Kolkata, Oct. 6 -- Hours after two BJP leaders were attacked in North Bengal following tension in the area in the aftermath of sudden of flood and landslips, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee appealed for unity and restraint in disaster-hit region.

Taking to her official X handle, the Chief Minister wrote: "My heartfelt appeal, many people have faced severe losses in this disaster. We deeply feel their suffering. Yet, even in these difficult times, we must remember that unity and patience are our greatest strengths.
