Nashik, Oct. 31 -- Two persons were arrested in Malegaon taluka after police seized counterfeit currency notes of Rs 500 denomination worth Rs 10 lakh from their possession, officials said.
According to the Malegaon taluka police, a patrol team apprehended the duo while they were moving suspiciously along the highway, allegedly attempting to circulate the fake notes in the city. Upon inspection, police recovered 2,000 counterfeit Rs 500 notes and two mobile phones from them.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Nazir Akram Mohammad Ayub Ansari (34) and Mohammad Zubair Mohammad Ashraf Ansari (33), both residents of Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh.
