Male/New Delhi, July 25 -- Maldives Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Maldivian capital today during the Prime Minister's ongoing State Visit to the Indian Ocean island nation.

Dr. Khaleel welcomed the Prime Minister and his delegation to the Maldives and reaffirmed the excellent and longstanding relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India's commitment to working together with the Maldives to strengthen the existing close cooperation between the two countries in multiple areas.

Both sides affirmed their commitment to strengthening existing bilateral ties further and work together on areas of mutual interest.
