Nagpur/Amravati, Oct. 7 -- Mala Papalkar, a blind orphan from Achalpur, has successfully cleared the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Group C examination and been appointed as a Revenue Assistant at the Nagpur Collectorate.
Born blind and abandoned at Jalgaon railway station, Mala was rescued and raised at an orphanage in Wazzar, in Maharashtra's Amravati district, under the guidance of Padma Shri awardee Shankar Baba Papalkar. Educated through Braille, she completed her schooling and post-graduation before beginning MPSC preparations in 2021.
Despite physical challenges and the need for a scribe during exams, Mala cleared the MPSC in 2023.
