Kolkata, Oct. 10 -- union Minister Sukanta Majumdar today thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for releasing Rs 680.71 crore as the first instalment of United (Basic) Grants under the 15th Finance Commission for West Bengal's Panchayati Raj Institutions.
"Heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for releasing Rs 680.71 crore as the first instalment of Untied (Basic) Grants under the 15th Finance Commission for West Bengal's Panchayati Raj Institutions," Majumdar said.
He added that this crucial support will strengthen 3,224 Gram Panchayats, 335 Block Panchayats, and 21 Zilla Parishads across the state.
