Mumbai, Nov. 14 -- As the municipal elections approach, the Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) continues to face setbacks. In a major blow, Magathane MLA Prakash Surve quit the Thackeray camp and joined the Shinde-led Shiv Sena here on Thursday.
Surve stated that the Shinde group currently has around 100 former corporators in Mumbai, and hence, it deserves at least that many seats in the next elections.
He added that his Magathane Assembly constituency includes seven civic wards, and his group plans to claim all of them. Our candidates will win from these wards, and the Mayor of Mumbai will be from the Mahayuti (Grand Alliance), he asserted.
