Lucknow, Dec. 13 -- Farmers in Uttar Pradesh have received a major boost as NAFED is set to open 50 urad dal (pulses) procurement centers across 17 districts.
Farmers will be able to sell urad at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 7,800 per quintal. Registration has already started, and procurement will begin shortly. Payment will be transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts within three working days of the sale.
Under NAFED's Atmanirbhar Dal Yojana, direct procurement from farmers will continue until January 29, 2026. This initiative guarantees fair prices and eliminates middlemen from the process.
