New Delhi, April 18 -- In a landmark move to enhance the working environment of loco pilots, Indian Railways has equipped more than half of its locomotive cabs with ergonomic seats, air conditioning, and other modern facilities.

In a parallel development, the national transporter has also begun fitting toilets in all newly manufactured locomotives, while older engines are being retrofitted through design modifications.

These measures represent a major shift in the approach towards crew welfare, particularly for loco pilots who spend long hours in cabs across challenging routes and weather conditions.
