Mumbai, Oct. 6 -- A major fire broke out at a chemical godown in Bhiwandi area of Thane district near Mumbai with no injury reported while chemicals and other machinery worth crores of rupees were damaged, officials said here today.
The incident occurred at 9.45 pm Sunday at the Sona Devi Logistics unit in Lonad Village in Bhiwandi. As the fire engulfed the chemical unit, dark smoke emanated from the godown, triggering panic in the area.
