Shimla, Dec. 8 -- A devastating fire broke out in Dhadei village of Manikaran Valley in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, reducing two residential buildings and an ancient temple to ashes and causing losses running into crores.
Residents were asleep when the blaze erupted around midnight, turning the tranquil night into chaos.
The flames spread rapidly through the closely built structures, forcing villagers to rush out of their homes to save themselves.
Panic gripped the settlement as locals made desperate attempts to contain the fire using mud and water, but the efforts proved futile.
