Aizawl, Aug. 22 -- Security agencies in Mizoram today seized nearly 5 lakh methamphetamine tablets in a major joint operation on the Aizawl-Champhai highway, arresting eight people and dismantling a key trafficking attempt along the sensitive Myanmar corridor.
Acting on intelligence, the Border Security Force (BSF), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Aizawl, and the state Excise & Narcotics Department intercepted four vehicles near Keifang-Seling, about 60 km from Aizawl. The search yielded 50 kg of suspected methamphetamine tablets, packed in 50 packets, and 36 grams of heroin. The vehicles used in transportation were also seized.
