Itanagar, July 29 -- In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, the Arunachal Pradesh police today seized 496.09 grams of suspected heroin worth Rs 20 lakh and arrested three individuals, including a notorious habitual offender, during a late-night operation spanning across the state and Assam.

The suspected Heroin was found by personnel from Naharlagun police station.

Acting on a tip-off regarding the illegal transportation of narcotics from Assam into Arunachal Pradesh, a police team led by SI Koj Tada, along with ASI S K Jha, head constable T Bomdom, and others, along with personnel from B/138 Battalion CRPF, intercepted a white Honda Elevate (AR27-2223) at Banderdewa checkgate at around 9:30 pm.
