Lucknow, July 29 -- In a significant late-night administrative reshuffle on Monday, July 28, the Uttar Pradesh government transferred 23 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.

The list includes high-profile changes involving the District Magistrates of Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, and Gautam Buddh Nagar, as well as the Divisional Commissioner of Ayodhya.

The reshuffle comes at a critical juncture as the state awaits the appointment of a new Chief Secretary, with the current Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, set to retire on July 31. Speculations are also rife about a possible extension of his tenure.
