Majhi urges Mamata to refrain from using 'Jagannath Dham' for Digha Temple
Bhubaneswar, May 6 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday urged his West Bengal counterpart, Mamata Banerjee, to reconsider the use of the name "Jagannath Dham" in reference to the Jagannath temple in Digha.
In a letter addressed to Banerjee, Majhi conveyed the Odisha government's deep concern over naming the new temple in Digha as "Jagannath Dham."
He emphasized that Shree Jagannath Dham in Puri is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites of Hinduism and holds unparalleled religious, spiritual, and cultural significance not only for the people of Odisha but also for millions of devotees across India and the world.
