Varanasi, Sept. 24 -- The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force's (STF) Varanasi unit has arrested the main accused and his accomplice involved in a Rs 7 crore jewellery heist that took place in Chandan Nagar, Hooghly, Kolkata on August 3.
The breakthrough was made yesterday with the arrest of Adarsh Singh Behda from Kerakat in Jaunpur, and Suraj Seth from Cholapur in Varanasi, at the Gambhirpur Toll Plaza in Azamgarh.
According to the STF, after the daring robbery, the West Bengal Police shared CCTV footage, photographs, and other critical information with the UP STF and sought their assistance in locating the suspects. Acting on these leads, the Varanasi STF unit tracked the accused to the Azamgarh region.
