Nagpur, Nov. 18 -- Maharashtra Minister and senior BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Tuesday confirmed that the Mahayuti alliance comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena and the NCP will contest the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections jointly, putting an end to ongoing speculation.

Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Bawankule said the alliance has set an ambitious target for the polls.

"In the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, Mahayuti will contest together. Our goal is to win two-thirds of the seats and secure 51 per cent of the vote share to form the government in the corporation," he stated.
