Nagpur, Dec. 12 -- The ruling Mahayuti alliance has reportedly finalised its formula for seat-sharing in the upcoming municipal corporation elections.
The agreement outlines how the three constituent parties - the BJP, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP - will contest in key municipal bodies across Maharashtra.
According to sources, the three parties will jointly contest elections in major corporations including Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli, Nashik and Nagpur. In Mumbai, discussions on seat-sharing have progressed significantly, with both sides moving towards a consensus. The Shiv Sena (Shinde) is said to be firm on a 50:50 formula, while final adjustments are being negotiated.
