Wardha, Sept. 28 -- Two persons were killed and a 17-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by lightning in Hinganghat taluka of Maharashtra's Wardha district, police said today.
The incident took place last evening on the Sonegaon-Allipur road near Dhotra crossroads when Anil Thakare, a resident of Bhipur, was returning home on a two-wheeler along with his son Vedant (17) and nephew Saurabh.
As heavy rain and lightning began, the trio took shelter under a tree, where a sudden lightning strike hit them.
Anil and Saurabh died on the spot, while Vedant sustained grievous injuries.
