Mumbai, Sept. 10 -- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed the administration to issue advertisements for filling vacant posts reserved for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category in government services.
Over the past 20 years, a total of 63,693 tribal candidates were recruited into government service. Of these, 51,173 submitted valid caste certificates. However, 12,520 employees failed to present valid caste validity certificates and were subsequently moved to the open category.
When the Bombay High Court questioned whether these 12,520 posts had been refilled with eligible tribal candidates, it was revealed that the positions still remain vacant.
