Mumbai, Sept. 9 -- The Maharashtra Government has taken several important decisions, including for the state's farmers, in a Cabinet meeting held today. The concession on electricity charges for lift irrigation schemes has now been extended until March 2027.

The major decisions taken by Cabinet include extra high voltage, high voltage, and low voltage lift irrigation schemes.

Continuing the electricity concession will reduce the financial burden on farmers and help increase the area under irrigation.

The Cabinet has also taken a decision to strengthen urban infrastructure. Under the Urban Infrastructure Development Loan Scheme, approval has been granted to raise a loan of Rs 2,000 crore from HUDCO in the first phase.
