Mumbai, June 20 -- Maharashtra reported 53 new COVID-19 infections, pushing the state's active caseload to 340 amid sustained viral transmission in urban centers.

The cumulative tally for 2025 now stands at 2,281 cases since January 1, with no fatalities recorded in the latest 24-hour period.

Pune emerged as the current hotspot with 18 new cases, followed by Mumbai (11), Nagpur (8), Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (6), and Thane (4). Kolhapur registered 2 infections, while Nashik, Satara, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli reported one case each.
