Nagpur, Sept. 25 -- Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Thursday said the state government has so far disbursed Rs 2,230 crore in relief assistance to farmers affected by recent floods.
Speaking to reporters at the Nagpur airport, he also said damaged crop loss assessment reports covering another 17 lakh hectares have been received, and a Government Resolution (GR) on further aid is likely within the next two days.
"Efforts are underway to bring the affected farmers out of this huge disaster and mitigate their losses," he added. He further said immediate relief measures are being extended with the support of legislators, MPs, NGOs and business leaders.
