Pune, Aug. 20 -- The state government, in coordination with the central government, has approved the long-pending proposal for the construction of the third and fourth railway tracks between Pune and Lonavala.
The government cleared the project during the Infrastructure Committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to enhance suburban railway connectivity between Pune and Lonavala and provide major relief to daily commuters.
Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol has been consistently pursuing this demand with both the central and state governments. While the Centre has already shown a positive response, the state's approval now paves the way for the project to move forward.
