Mumbai, Oct. 11 -- The Maharashtra government has taken a landmark decision to expedite land dispute resolutions by appointing licensed private surveyors, who will complete survey-related cases within 30 days, following a proposal by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
An official notification has been issued to implement the initiative, which aims to address chronic delays in land survey processes that previously required 90 to 120 days due to manpower shortages in government departments.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule described the move as "historic and transformative," noting that it would accelerate the resolution of nearly 3.12 crore pending survey cases across Maharashtra.
