Mumbai, Nov. 21 -- A sixteen-year-old student from Maharashtra committed suicide in Delhi, prompting his family to demand strict action against the management and teachers of his school.

Shourya Patil, a Class X student of St Columba School in New Delhi, ended his life on Tuesday by jumping from Platform 2 of Rajendra Place Metro Station in Central Delhi.

The family, originally from Sangli district, has alleged persistent mistreatment, mockery and mental pressure at the school. A purported suicide note recovered from Shourya's school bag reportedly held three teachers responsible for his extreme step and expressed his wish for organ donation if medically possible.
