Mumbai, July 29 -- The Maharashtra Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, today approved the creation of dedicated special courts in Gondia, Ratnagiri, and Washim districts to accelerate the resolution of cases involving atrocities against women.

This expansion aims to replicate the success of the state's existing network of 27 special courts dedicated to women's atrocity cases, which have demonstrated significant utility by disposing of a substantial backlog. The newly sanctioned courts will focus specifically on ensuring swift justice for female victims.
