Mumbai, Jan. 28 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar, along with four others, was killed when a plane carrying them crash-landed at Baramati Airport on Wednesday morning, DGCA officials confirmed.

The aircraft, a Learjet 45 (registration VT-SSK) operated by VSR Aviation, went down while attempting to land at the Baramati airstrip around 8:45 AM IST.

On board were Ajit Pawar, a personal security officer, an attendant, and two crew members. Initial reports indicate that none of the five people survived the crash.
