Mumbai, Sept. 18 -- To promote administrative efficiency and environmental protection, the Maharashtra government has increased the budget allocation for vehicle purchases for ministers and senior officials. Under the new vehicle policy, ministers will be granted an additional 5 lakh for purchasing electric vehicles.

Currently, the governor, chief minister, and deputy chief minister can buy vehicles of their choice without a funding cap.

Cabinet ministers and ministers of state have a limit of 30 lakh, but if they opt for an electric vehicle, the allocation will rise to 35 lakh.
