Mumbai, Oct. 14 -- The Maharashtra government has approved the creation of 2,228 new staff positions for the Bombay High Court and its benches in Nagpur and Aurangabad, marking a significant step toward resolving long-standing manpower shortages that have hindered judicial efficiency.
The state cabinet's approval includes Group A to Group D positions, with full budgetary sanction granted to allow immediate commencement of recruitment.
This major staffing expansion follows the High Court's suo motu intervention in December 2024, which brought attention to severe personnel shortages affecting essential administrative and procedural work.
