Pune, Dec. 13 -- Maharashtra is likely to experience a cold wave, with temperatures in several districts falling below 10 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Dense morning fog is being reported across many regions, while cold conditions have intensified in Marathwada and Vidarbha. The IMD has warned that chilly weather is expected to persist throughout December.

In response, several schools have rescheduled opening hours to cope with the low temperatures.

Northern India is also witnessing a sharp drop in temperatures, with states such as Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh experiencing intensifying cold waves.
