Mumbai, June 2 -- The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Monday conducted a raid at the residence of ex-SIMI leaders in Padgha in Thane district in Maharashtra as part of an ongoing investigation into terrorism-related activities, officials said.
The operation began early in the morning in Padgha village, where ATS teams, assisted by Thane rural police, searched several premises, including the residence of Saquib Nachan, a former office-bearer of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). Authorities stated that certain individuals had been identified as part of the probe, and searches were being conducted accordingly.
