Mumbai, Jan. 1 -- The Maharashtra government has sanctioned a 19.2 crore grant to restart and clear long-pending scholarship dues for students from economically weaker minority communities pursuing professional technical, medical, and agricultural courses after Class 12.

The decision will benefit students whose scholarship applications were approved between 2019-20 and 2025-26, but remained unpaid for years, official sources said on Thursday.

The funding has been authorised through a Government Resolution issued by the Minority Development Department on December 31, 2025, with allocations directed to the Director of Technical Education (Mumbai), Commissioner of Medical Education and Research (Mumbai), and the Director of Maharashtra Agric...
