Beed, Oct. 15 -- The Dharur Police in Maharashtra's Beed district today conducted a special enforcement campaign aimed at improving traffic discipline and promoting public awareness of road safety laws.

During the one-day operation, police imposed fines totalling Rs 32,000 for multiple traffic violations.

A checkpoint was set up at the Dharur toll plaza, where vehicles were inspected continuously from morning to evening. Police booked 22 drivers, collecting Rs 22,700 in fines, while an additional Rs 9,200 was levied on sixteen other vehicles for various offences.

In a key action during the campaign, police registered a case against one motorist for driving under the influence of alcohol, under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Offic...
