The remark comes amid tensions brewing within the ruling Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra.
Thackeray, who earlier served as chief minister before Shinde rebelled and took control of the original Shiv Sena, said he had heard that "someone went to Delhi to say 'Baba, mala marla,' meaning "Father, I have been beaten."
