Nagpur, Oct. 28 -- A 67-year-old woman was killed in a tiger attack while working in her cotton field near Deolapar this morning, triggering panic among local villagers, forest officials said today.

The deceased has been identified as Vimla Kashinath Einwate, a resident of Lohdongri.

According to forest officials, Vimla was plucking cotton in her farm located at Survey No. 268/2, Plot No. 29, Mouza Deolapar, when a tiger from the nearby reserved forest (Compartment No. 581) suddenly pounced on her around 9:10 am and dragged her into the adjacent forest area, where she died on the spot.
