Pune, Oct. 27 -- Former minister Dilip Walse Patil today asserted that no government can withdraw the reservation granted to the tribal community as long as the Indian Constitution is in force.

Speaking at a function following the inauguration of development works in Shirur taluka, Walse Patil addressed recent demands to include non-tribal communities under the tribal reservation category, which he said was misleading the tribal population on a large scale. He reiterated his assurance that the reservation for tribal communities is constitutionally guaranteed and cannot be taken away.

Former MP and MHADA chairman Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil was also present at the event.
