Mumbai, March 21 -- Vice President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, today inaugurated a Jain literature exhibition at Maharashtra Lok Bhavan during his visit to attend the Jain Diksha Mahotsav.

Along with Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Vice President visited the exhibition showcasing Jain Tirthankar idols and ancient Jain manuscripts.

The Vice President stated that the teachings of Mahavira are more relevant today than ever before. Through his life, he conveyed the message of renunciation and simple living.

He further noted that Jainism has a noble tradition of renouncing worldly attachments and dedicating oneself to the service of society, which is truly exemplary.
