Gondia, Oct. 19 -- Two men were killed in a head-on collision this morning when a speeding tipper truck struck their motorcycle on the Gondia-Kohmara National Highway, police said.

The incident occurred around 7:30 am between Mundipar and Murdoli villages. The victims were identified as Dinesh Amarlal Pandhare (32) and Devendra Nethulal Uike (35), both residents of Baghatora village in Balaghat district, Madhya Pradesh.

The men, employed in Nagpur, were returning to their native village for the Diwali holidays on a motorcycle. The tipper truck, reportedly at high speed, struck them from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that both riders died on the spot.
