Solapur, Oct. 23 -- Banda police today arrested two residents of Solapur district for allegedly smuggling Goa-manufactured liquor into the state. Police intercepted the suspects during a routine patrol and seized illegal stock and a vehicle with a total value of approximately Rs 8.69 lakh.

The accused were identified as Praveen Mahavir Borade (30) of Madha taluka, and Ram Nagnath Mane (35) from Mohol taluka.

The operation took place around 2:55 am when officers intercepted a suspicious white Mahindra Bolero pickup. Upon inspection, police discovered several cartons containing Goa-made liquor concealed inside the vehicle. The seized liquor stock was valued at Rs 3.69 lakh, and the vehicle was worth around Rs 5 lakh.
