Nashik, March 20 -- Tension prevailed in Maharashtra's Nashik district on Thursday after two brothers, including a city vice-president of the NCP (Ajit Pawar), were killed Wednesday night by unknown assailants.

According to police sources, the victims, identified as Manna Jadhav (city vice president-NCP-AP) and his brother Prashant Jadhav, were strolling near their residence in the Ambedkar Wadi area near Bodhale Nagar on the Nashik-Pune highway, when armed assailants attacked them. Bleeding profusely, the brothers collapsed on the road.

Upon receiving the information, a police force rushed to the spot and admitted them to the district hospital.
