Mumbai, Aug. 8 -- Samajwadi Party's Maharashtra chief Abu Azmi today levelled serious allegations against the Election Commission of India (ECI), accusing it of favouring the ruling BJP and manipulating voter list in the state.
Addressing the media, Azmi claimed that legitimate voters' names in the Mankhurd-Shivaji Nagar assembly constituency were deleted just six months before last year's elections and replaced with names of non-residents. He demanded an immediate audit of the electoral rolls and corrective measures to address such discrepancies.
